Good Works Collective
Career training for economic, relational, and spiritual well-being
Our mission is to empower individuals to overcome relational, economic and spiritual poverty through career and community development, in obedience to God’s calling.
Good Works Collective is a Christ-centered workforce development ministry based in Houston, TX. We exist to empower individuals to overcome relational, economic, and spiritual poverty through career and community development, in obedience to God’s calling. We believe poverty is not only economic, but also relational and spiritual, and we are committed to addressing the whole person.
Through our 6-month cohort program, participants receive hard skills training aligned with real career pathways, soft skills development such as communication and professionalism, spiritual formation within authentic Christian community, and direct connection to industry experts in our Collective. Our goal is to launch participants into careers with earnings above the poverty line and opportunities for long-term upward mobility. We believe God designed us to flourish in community—and with a strong, faith-filled community, transformation is possible.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Sidekick: Walk alongside and disciple participants in our 6-month program. This commitment includes attending our Tuesday Family Gatherings (6–8 pm; childcare, food, and games provided) and joining our leaders for a weekend retreat. Sidekicks invest relationally, spiritually, and professionally in emerging leaders as they grow in confidence, calling, and career readiness.
Mock Interviews: Serve as a mock interviewer during our interview day, held once per cohort (three times annually). Volunteers conduct practice interviews and provide feedback so participants can build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and gain real-world interview experience.
