Updated 11/21/25
Benno was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Please pray as he and Jan seek further medical evaluation, clarity on the diagnosis, and a wise treatment plan. Pray also for God’s comfort for Jan, their family, and everyone impacted by the news. Please lift up Benno’s healing, strength for Jan as she cares for him, and that the Lord would use this season to draw their hearts closer to Christ. May they be spiritually refreshed by the hope we have in Jesus and His compassionate presence with them.

Chris and Summer Husband and Family
Updated 11/24/25
Skylar hasn't been responding and ran away from his mom again. The Husbands aren't sure where he is staying and have laid out what he needs to do to stay with them again , but he hasn't showed interest in taking him up on that. Prayers for a soft heart for him and a humility/willingness to choose a path that will benefit him rather than continuing to be stubborn and self-sabotage.
12/23/24
Please pray for the Husbands to have wisdom, clarity, and peace as they welcome a young man named Skyler into their home. They have been encouraing him in Christ's love for him, bringing him to GBC youth, taking him to counseling, and all in all he had been doing a lot better in school in sports. He would still miss his mom a lot, but when he goes over visits typically exploded, which hurt him a lot. As of late September he had been doing really well. Passing classes, doing well in football, and no major behavioral issues. Mid November, the update was that he had been skipping and failing classes, and things were not going well with him at the Husband's house. He left their home, and they are not sure where he has been.

Laure has had 4 kidney surgeries since August, and has another one coming in December. Pray that she continues to recover well, and the next and last surgery goes smoothly. Laure's dad also passed away (he was 104!) on November 6th, so they have felt overwhelmed with all that is going on.

Autumn Hugo's dad, John
Updated 11/18/25
Please pray for their upcoming oncology appointment on Friday as they sit down and review results from the scans. Pray they would rest in God's sovereign plan no matter the outcome, and he would free them of the anxiety they all feel right now.
12/18/24
Autumn's dad had several small strokes and found lung cancer, which they think must be the source of the strokes. Prayers for healing from the stroke damage, and strength as he starts PT and OT. He was working with a functional oncologist who was treating his lung cancer with some some alternative therapies, but have now decided to go ahead and start with chemo. Pray for John’s body to endure the chemo and doctors’ wisdom on any changes needed in protocol. Prayers for effective treatment, for his comfort, and for peace over him and the family. Prayers for wisdom and unity for Autumn and Heather and their mom (Suzann) as they discuss how to best manage his care. John had scans on Saturday Nov 15th, and they are now waiting results.

Courtney Hammon
Updated 11/18/25
Her hemoglobin has normalized, and white blood cell count is good. She saw her colorectal surgeon and he does not think it’s Crohn’s, based on biopsy results. He also says she's good to go on cyst surgery Dec 8. Pray she will stay healthy till surgery on Dec 8, and that the team at MD Anderson continues to be on board with the surgical plan despite recent events.
10/1/25
Courtney has a large cyst on her left ovary, which they believe may be stuck to the small intestine. She is likely to have surgery to remove the cyst, but is asking prayers for wisdom in this decision. She has lots of scar tissue from previous conditions and surgeries, and the surgery could be risky for her bowels (potentially resulting in her waking up with an ileostomy). After testing they found that the cyst is larger than anticipated, but appears to be accessible. Surgery is scheduled for 12/8 at MD Anderson, and she'll be hospitalized for 3-5 days. Pray the cyst would not be cancerous and the surgeons would be able to do their job in a way that does not further damage her bowels. She ended up in the ER on Nov 1st with intestinal bleeding on Friday. The CT Scan showed a little bit of distention around ileostomy reconnection site, but otherwise everything else looked good. Her hemoglobin was low, so she was admitted.

Oliver Seidman
Updated 11/12/25
Oliver is doing well and will receive his prosthetic before Thanksgiving! Pray that he quickly adapts without pain or discomfort as he embraces this new reality. Pray that God instills in him, even at a young age, a deep sense of his worth in Christ, beyond outward appearances. Pray he trusts in the Lord's sovereignty in how he is uniquely created.
9/17/25
Oliver is a one year old and had a left ankle symes amputation in Dallas. The surgery went well! He is moving around and doesn't seem to be in much pain. They will go to Dallas Several times over the next few months to checkups, and hopeful Oliver will get a prosthetic before the year ends. Pray that Skyler and Ale would have peace and wisdom about the road ahead as they figure out appointments for prosthetics and PT.

Jessica Marshall's mom
11/12/25
Jessica's mom rang the bell yesterday for her last radiation. She should be heading home tomorrow. They will wait 2-3 months to see if the tumor has shrunk at all. Pray for her recovery and for the treatment to be effective!
10/29/25
Jessica's mom was diagnosed with Stage 3 anal cancer in September. She has finished chemo and is almost done with radiation at this point. They are thankful for Jessica's aunt who is a radiologist and has been hosting Jessica's mom while she's getting treatment here in Houston. The chemo took a lot out of her, so prayers that her body would recover. She was suppose to go home next week, but her WBC count was low, and they are postponing her final radiation treatment. Pray that she would be able to go home by November 15th, and that all of the treatment would be effective!
Staff/Elder: Stacie, Amy, Travis
Claire Westmoreland
Updated 11/12/25
Claire rang the bell last Thursday and is finished with radiation! Prayers that the treatments continue to be effective.
6/12/25
Claire has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She had a lumpectomy on Tuesday, July 29th, and overall it went well. The pathology report came back showing that the cancer was invasive, meaning it spread beyond her milk duct. It is now considered stage 1. They went back in on Sept 23rd to remove more tissue, do sentinel lymph node testing, and remove 2-3 lymph nodes. The surgery went well and pathology report came back confirming no more surgeries needed. She started radiation on Thursday for 3 weeks, and then will start Tamoxifen to treat anything else. Pray she responds well to all the treatments!

Ashtin James
Updated 10/27/25
Ashtin's dad has passed away. Pray for the family as they prepare for his funeral and mourn their loss, especially with holidays approaching.
10/23/25
Ashtin's dad has cancer and they are at the end of treatments to try at his current state. They have decided to put him on hospice today. He is in agreement with the plan but is having a hard time adjusting. Ashtin has a brother getting married in May, a sister that is pregnant, and another brother starting college, so her dad is coming to terms with missing these major life events. He is a believer, so they have peace in His trust in the Lord but it has been hard for him and their family. Prayers for peace of mind and less pain for him and comfort for their whole family.

Baumgarten Family
Updated 10/20/25
The cataract surgery was successful and went according to plan! The retina was not detached, so they only had to do blood vessel repair. Pray that his eyes would totally heal, and that glaucoma wouldn't develop. They will continue to monitor blood flow behind his eyes, so prayers that this continues to improve and normalize.
9/3/25
Stephen and Meg just had their baby, Beau, and found out he has a significant sight threatening issue with his left eye. The cataract is so dense in his eye they cannot see behind it to figure out what's going on. He will have surgery October 13th to remove the cataract, and are thankful the retina in the left eye is not detached. They also found some abnormal blood vessels in his right eye, and did a laser procedure to help dissipate these. Recent MRI showed that the blood vessels completely went away! Praise God!

Jules Hinson
Updated 10/9/25
Her brother in law is not doing well. The cancer has spread throughout his body and he isn't expected to survive much longer (have event talked about hospice). John is a Christian, but is not at peace with death at this point and doesn't understand why God would do this. They have three children (10,9, 7). His wife, Carol, has really strong faith and seems to be navigating this well. Prayers that John would cling to the Lord and have peace with the outcome. Prayers for Carol to have strength and receive encouragement. Prayers for the children as they come to grips with likely losing their father.
9/22/25
Jules's sister lives in College Station, and her husband, John, is battling colorectal cancer. They have small children, and he is not doing well. Pray for his healing, specifically right now while he's in the hospital fighting infection. Pray for the family to feel supported by the community, and for doctor's wisdom.

Ruthie Lewis, 10/7/25
Ruthie Lewis (4 years old) was diagnosed with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma, a soft tissue cancer, last November. She has completed 42 weeks of frontline chemo, and is in the maintenance phase currently. At this point in her treatment, she has no evidence of disease! The family is continuing to ask the Lord to protect her body from the harsh chemo, and to spare her from any recurrence or long-term side effects.

Car Rides for Barbara
Barbara, an elderly woman who lives near the church, is in a wheelchair, and depends on others to get her to the 10:45 service to worship on Sundays. For the past few months, Mike Tosoni has been the only person signing up. Wes and Stacie have been trying to recruit people, but come up short with every attempt to find people willing to consistently do this. Please pray we could find 8 people or couples who would be able to joyfully do this!
