Chris and Summer Husband and Family
Updated 9/24/25
Overall Skylar is doing really well. He's passing his classes, doing well in football, and hasn't had any major behavioral issues at school lately. Still lots of ups and downs with his mom. Continued prayers for healing in that relationship, that Chris and Summer would have wisdom around where to draw hard lines and where to have grace. Pray for Skylar's salvation, and provision for him when he leaves their home. They are thankful for all the coaches and teachers surrounding Skyler right now, and the ways God has been teaching them through it all.
12/23/24
Please pray for the Husbands to have wisdom, clarity, and peace as they welcome a young man named Skyler into their home. He is now full-time staying with them. Pray for the Husbands to have wisdom as they consider changing schools for Skyler. Claire Westmoreland
Updated 9/24/25
The surgery went well! She is sleepy and in pain, but the surgeons said they are pleased with it. Prayers for her continued recovery!
6/12/25
Claire has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She had a lumpectomy on Tuesday, July 29th, and overall it went well. The pathology report came back showing that the cancer was invasive, meaning it spread beyond her milk duct. It is now considered stage 1. They will go back in to remove more tissue, do sentinel lymph node testing, and remove 2-3 lymph nodes. This surgery was scheduled for September 23rd. Prayers for all of this to go smoothly, and for her to not feel too discouraged with this news.

Kevin Stephney, 9/17/25
Kevin had a stroke on Sunday while in Fort Worth visiting his son, Aaron. He collapsed in the hotel elevator and was rushed to the hospital. Kevin's MRI did show that he had a stroke on the left side, which affects speech and other things, but no blood clots. CAT scan revealed no bleeding on the brain. EKG-Heart was strained, but there was no damage or blockage. He has a blood clot in his left leg, and he will have a procedure tomorrow to protect the heart, lungs, or brain if the clot moves. Physical and occupational therapy began today, and the next steps after the hospital will be rehab. Prayers for his healing and doctors wisdom.

Lura Jane Munford
Updated 9/11/25
The urologist removed the stent without any complications and with little pain. He ordered a follow-up test for her kidney in a month to assure that it, and the repair, are functioning normally. He said the prognosis looks very good. They are thankful for everyone's prayers and encouragement during this process as it has been difficult. They are thankful to our Lord for His love and comfort and healing.
6/3/25
Lura Jane had surgery a couple of Friday's ago to put a stint in her ureter due to a stricture. She only has one kidney, which has doctors on high alert for the situation. After a kidney function test, they confirmed her kidney was not functioning normal or working well with the stent. She was scheduled for surgery on July 24th to have the stricture repaired, and the surgery was successful. Recovery has been a bit slow and more painful than expected. She has a follow up on September 10th to remove the stent. Pray that the ureter/kidney attachment repair heals and is a permanent solution. Prayers for healing of her abdomen and the incision site.

Baumgarten Family
Updated 9/10/25
They were able to see that the retina in the left eye is not detached, which is a huge relief. They will continue to monitor and he will likely have surgery at 6 months to remove the cataract and operate on the retina (the initial surgery they talked about). The right eye does have more blood vessels than they would like to see. They did a laser procedure to hopefully help with some of that. They plan to do an MRI in the next month to check on the blood flow. Once they do this, they'll be able to decide on a better plan moving forward. Prayers for doctors wisdom, for Beau's body to heal as it should, and for successful procedures.
9/3/25
Stephen and Meg just had their baby, Beau, and found out he has a significant sight threatening issue with his left eye. The cataract is so dense in his eye they cannot see behind it to figure out what's going on. He will have surgery soon, and they are praying the retina in his left eye is not detached and will not detach before the surgery. They also found some abnormal blood vessels in his right eye, and are praying these would dissipate and be a non issue for him. Prayers for Stephen and Meg as they make decisions on next steps, doctors, etc. and prayers for the doctors that are on his case to be full of wisdom and confidence.

Autumn Hugo's dad, John
Updated 8/27/25
John’s surgery to put the port in was successful. He started chemo and immunotherapy last week. Pray that it will be effective at shrinking the tumors in his lungs – he’s having a hard time breathing and the treatment has been hard so far. Prayers for wisdom and unity for Autumn and Heather and their mom (Suzann) as they discuss how to best manage his care.
12/18/24
Autumn's dad has been having some health issues the past couple weeks. They were able to detect several small strokes and lung cancer, which they think must be the source of the strokes. Prayers for healing from the stroke damage, and strength as he starts PT and OT. He was working with a functional oncologist who was treating his lung cancer with some some alternative therapies, but have now decided to go ahead and start with chemo. He had surgery scheduled to get a port on Wednesday (8/13) and then begin chemo on Monday (8/18). Pray for John’s body to endure the chemo and doctors’ wisdom on any changes needed in protocol. Prayers for effective treatment, for his comfort, and for peace over him and the family.

Lindsey Akridge
Updated 8/7/25
Lindsey is at her parents house in Lufkin as she adjusts to the MS diagnosis. Thankfully, the medicine is really helping and she will be returning to work at the end of August when she comes back to Houston. She seems in really good spirits and sounds firm in her faith. Pray that she would believe that God is good and has good for her despite the diagnosis, and that she would not live in fear.
5/22/25
Lindsey is 28 and following a recent MRI, was diagnosed with MS. She wasn't sleeping well, and has felt a lot of fear. Prayers for trust in the Lord and healing. Please be praying for peace over her diagnosis, and for the doctors to have wisdom as they manage symptoms and slow progression.

Car Rides for Barbara
Barbara, an elderly woman who lives near the church, is in a wheelchair, and depends on others to get her to the 10:45 service to worship on Sundays. For the past few months, Mike Tosoni has been the only person signing up. Wes and Stacie have been trying to recruit people, but come up short with every attempt to find people willing to consistently do this. Please pray we could find 8 people or couples who would be able to joyfully do this!
