Ministry Partners
The Njuguna’s: Church planters in South Sudan. Pray for peace in Sudan and South Sudan. Pray for Joseph and his wife’s continued faithfulness in life and ministry. Pray for God’s provision in the work they do, and for the health and godly endurance of their teammates.
Houston Pregnancy Help Center: Provides practical and compassionate support to women in unplanned pregnancy situations. Pray for women with unplanned pregnancies to be comforted by the people at HPHC. Pray for the continued work of saving babies and supporting moms. Pray for the upcoming construction at the Fifth Ward location to go smoothly, and that it will create an atmosphere where clients can experience dignity, feel cared for, and be loved.
The Cranks: Joshua and Joy Crank have four boys and work as missionaries in the Philippines through leadership training and planting healthy discipleship communities in churches. Their mission organization, World Team, has had leadership transitions, which ultimately led to Joshua being elected for the Philippine Field Director of World Team role. The family will eventually move to Manila for this job. Pray for this transition to go smoothly, and for the family to adjust. Pray for God to provide the right leadership and community to support the church plant in Naga City.
Young Life: Brings the good news of Jesus Christ into the lives of adolescents and helps them grow in their faith. Many of the Young Life areas that we support are seeking greater access to middle and high schools. Pray that God would give favor to the staff and volunteers of this ministry in the eyes of school administrators and teachers. Pray that God would provide refreshment over the winter break for staff and volunteers, and that they would be ready to re-engage with students in the new year.
WITHIN THE CHURCH
Christmas Eve Service: Pray that non-Christians would come and be impacted by hearing the gospel. Pray for good weather and joy to celebrate the birth of Jesus!
GBC Community: Pray for GBC partners to find opportunities to serve and give throughout the holidays. Pray we would be an example of Christ’s love in hospitality, and a great comfort to individuals and families suffering loss as they approach the holidays.
Bereavement: Please be praying for all of our GBC families who have suffered loss as they approach the holidays. Pray for peace as they gather around family, and for God’s comfort to be known and enjoyed.
AS SCRIPTURE TEACHES US TO PRAY
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:6-7). Lord, as we celebrate Christmas and approach the end of another year, help us to aim our hopes and cast our anxieties upon your son, Jesus, as the true Prince of Peace.
