Ministry Partners

LifeHouse: Christian residential facility providing care, counseling, and support for young women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. Pray for the women currently in the program to feel fully capable of caring for and supporting their babies. Pray that God would prepare the hearts of the women joining the next cohort to believe in Christ’s love for them. 

CRU Albania: Reaches college students in Tirana, Albania, with the gospel and helps believers mature in their faith. Pray for the CRU staff to have unity and wisdom as they seek to engage with students as the semester starts. Pray for students already following Jesus to continue growing in evangelizing and discipling their peers, and for the seeds planted throughout the week with students to bear fruit. Lastly, pray for the GBC team going October 17-26 to be unified and to serve alongside the CRU staff with joyful hearts!

Campus Outreach: Evangelism and discipleship ministry on the campuses of HCU, UH, St. Thomas, Sam Houston, and Stephen F. Austin. Pray for the students on these campuses to hear about Campus Outreach and feel drawn to learn more. Pray for Campus Outreach leaders to enter this new school year with a desire to share more about Jesus and develop more disciple-making relationships.

Subash and Alice with Grow Gospel: Pastoral leadership for church planting in India along with “mercy centers” as outreach and compassion ministries of local churches. Alice was diagnosed with slow-progressing blood cancer in 2007. Recent tests revealed that the disease has progressed to myelofibrosis and that previous treatment is no longer effective. Alice will receive a bone marrow transplant this month to prevent the disease from progressing to leukemia. Pray that the transplant will be successful and that the disease will not progress. Pray for Alice’s recovery to be smooth. Pray for their family as they navigate the financial burdens and logistical challenges associated with Alice’s transplant. 

WITHIN THE CHURCH

Women’s Retreat (Oct 23-25): Pray that it would be a restful weekend where the women of GBC connect with one another and new women feel welcomed. Pray for peace for the speakers and that they would communicate God’s Word effectively. Pray that women’s lives would be transformed through the weekend.

Gather Up in the Grove (October 30): Pray that it would be a fun night of fellowship that the congregation is excited to attend! Pray that those who are new to GBC would feel welcomed, and pray for great weather.
